Team Selection
I was gonna go Pro Elves, but I've decided to give the agility teams a rest this season.
I've decided to go with something more challenging.
So ladiers and gentlemen, I present to you, the Halfling team,"McMurty's Mighty Mooters" (or McMmm, for short)!
"Long has the Halfling race been maligned by the coaches of the FNF league! We the brave, the few, are here to show you just what a Halfling team can do! We shall stand tall and proud, and accept the winner's trophy at the end of this season with humility, and just a touch of smugness...
Nestyr
Head Coach
McMmm
P.S. Fear us!"
(I think I can bear to play 22 weeks without winning a single game :-))
Cheers,
Jeff

Zeke Speaks
“The Hippies are certainly the team to beat. For a start, ArimanOrmuzd coaching record (12W-1D-2L) is second to absolutely none. And let’s not forget the fact that the Hippies totally thrashed the Graverotters in their recent Round 14 encounter. So, don’t be fooled by all this pre-game nonsense pointing at Knucklebone as the most skilled player in the forthcoming Grand Final. He is, but the Wood Elves have a whole locker room full of champions. To be sure, the Wardancer duo Twinkles II and Sparkles and the Thrower, Throwy McThrow, may all have exceeding silly names, but they are three of the best players the league has ever seen. In fact, most of the squad are Veterans or Emerging Stars of the game and not a single Rookie will take to the field wearing Hippies’ green.
“In contrast, a quarter of the Harlem Graverotters can be considered no better than inexperienced Rookies. They do, however, have some outstanding players. In addition to the Great Wight Hope, Knucklebone - Earnest Slaughter is one of the finest Werewolf players anywhere in the game today, and there are, unlikely as it sounds, some very talented Zombies on the Graverotters' roster. And let’s not forget, they didn’t make the Grand Final by accident! Team stats and player skills aren’t the whole story. There is quite a talented Necromancer pulling the strings, one whose performance in this finals series may well deserve his somewhat pretentious pseudonym of Supercoach.
“So who will win? At the end of the day, like in all Blood Bowl games, a certain amount of luck on the day is the unpredictable factor. But in the absence of a big dose of bad breaks, it’s tough to see the Hippies losing this one. With every Wood Elf player able to Dodge (except the big plant) and only a limited amount of Tackling know-how on in the Necromantic squad, the Graverotters will really struggle to knock those elusive elves down. While a bucket load of Inducement money (a whopping 430,000gp) gives the Graverotters a chance, it remains a fact that no team with the lower TV has ever won the FNF."So I predict the Hippies to win by 2 Touch Downs. But, hey, I’m just a Goblin, so what would I know......?”
Thanks Zeke. Good luck to both teams. We all now wait in breathless anticipation for Friday’s Big Game.

Quater-Finals Action!!
I've also been mucking about with ideas for some changes to my highlights sheet to give more information about the game - so I've used this opportunity to test out a new format. Maybe I've gone a bit over-board with the facts and figures - interested to hear any opinions.

FNF Calendar
This is the final installment of our popular FNF Calendar series. But never fear, the House of Axebreaker is already working on a range of new ideas for Season V.

Waldenhof Bloods' Season is Over
Although the result on the scoreboard was a disappointment for the Vampires, they went out in fine style. It was a match that had a bit of everything: magic, potions, spectacular passing, great TDs and, especially, plenty of violence that a cut a bloody swathe through the rat outfit that will ensure the Vampires’ presence will continue to be felt well into the finals.
The Skaven won the toss and elected to receive. The Vampires use of a lightning bolt delayed, but didn’t stop, the Runners moving the ball quickly down field. The Skaven Apothecary (and the assistant hired for the match) soon had their hands full as both of team’s Gutter Runners were hit hard early – Itchy was too far gone to help and he’ll miss next week too, but the team’s star, Talon Sharptooth was quickly patched up and soon back on the field. Meanwhile Gummy Rat Trap carried the ball over the line for the opening TD.
The restart started with a High Kick that allowed Ubour Dachnavar to cleanly field the ball and he dashed up the right flank towards the End Zone. As the rats scrambled to stop him, Talon Sharptooth was again hit hard and suffered a Serious Concussion that will not only keep him out of next week’s quarter-final, but also leaves with him with a nasty injury that he’ll carry for the rest of his career. Despite the loss of Sharptooth, the Runners' got on with business and soon put a stop to the Bloods' drive as Kwetuk, beefed up on a strength enhancing potion, smacked down Dachavar, badly injuring the super-strong Vampire, and knocking the ball off the pitch. An obviously partisan crowd hurled it back deep in the Bloods half allowing Krifle Sneek to grab the ball and carry it over the line for a TD long before any of the Bloods players could get anywhere near him or the ball.
The second half began with the diminished Runners able to field only 9 players. That was quickly reduced to just 7 as Leeei was badly injured and Gummy Rat Trap was killed by the Vampires. This allowed the Vampires plenty of room to move and Dachnavar easily carried the ball over the line for a TD. The restart began with the Bloods hurling another lightning bolt (Wizards are fun!!). But again the rats quickly recovered and soon showed why they are one the season’s top teams as the The Sheriff flung a pass to Claw, who then handed the ball off to Scrappy, who sprinted of for the Runner third TD.
In a final highlight of the game – Alyssa Milano was awarded the MVP for the Bloods teams (seriously, I’m not making that up) So, what better way to end the season could any team wish for!!!
Thanks to Adam for definitely one more fun games of the season and good luck to his rats in the finals. And good hunting to everyone else proceeding into the finals and I’m looking forward to playing you all again Season V!
