Greeting FNF Coaches
Well done to all for completing their games early, as a reward you get an extra day to play your Round 8 game.
Givo is still leading the League and remains undefeated, can the Wood Elves Coached by Nestyr end this Lizard streak.
Zenthaalx has the Draw vs the Orc and this game has been validated with a Skill to a Tomb Guarding being gained.
Supercoach's Undead are playing the Dark Elf team coached by Geoff, good luck.
There are only 4 round to go so get winning people, we don't want the Orc team to make the finals :)
I may have to award a Win to an Orc Opponent late in the season if it won't effect the Finals makeup.

Woodies Defeated by Necros
The Asrai Arachnids have gone down to the Red Riding Hood Rockets 3-2.
The Arachnids took an early 2-0 lead, with the Rocket's still suffering from Nuffle's attentions. The Rockets pre-game sacrificial offerings paid off late in the first half though, and the Rocket's luck took a turn for the slightly better, giving them enough good dice rolls to score three unanswered Touchdowns over the remainder of the game.
While not thrilled with the result, I'm pleased with the team's overall performance, playing as they were with no Wardancers in the side.
Cheers to Beldenox, who played stoically despite Nuffle's care and attention in the first half, and ended up coming away with a good win (I'd really hate to face the Rockets with Nuffle on their side, as they would be hard to beat).
The replay will be available on Cablevision shortly.
Cheers,
Nestyr
P.S. Phreaks, if the winnings bug is fixed, I'll have two Wardancers against you next round. We want to be the first team to defeat you this season!
<edit> I forgot to mention that I was setting up to score a one-turn Touchdown in the last turn of the game to level the scores, but a Riot knocked over the only non-Stand Firm player on the line of scrimmage, denying me the chance to set up a one-square chain push to move my MA 9 Catcher into scoring range.
As fate would have it, the Catcher ended up with the ball after the kick-off, decided "the hell with it", and ran hell for leather towards the end zone, making three extra distances with no re-rolls, only to end up one square short of scoring the equaliser. He was heartbroken... :-D

Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition
Hi all,
For those of you who haven't heard, Cyanide are releasing yet another full priced version of Bllod Bowl in September, titled the "Chaos Edition".
From what I can glean from their BB forum, this edition will add one new stadium, two (count 'em, TWO) new Star Players, and three new races.
No idea on the stadium or the Star Players, but the races are Chaos Dwarves, Underworld, and... Daemons of Khorne?!? Yep... Daemons of Khorne. Team stats are under wraps at present, but Bloodletters and Bloodthirsters have been mentioned...
So, no Slann (space frogs), or Chaos Pact. Slann have apparently been vetoed entirely by GW, as they do not fit their WHFB vision of the race (even though Blood Bowl is set in an entirely alternate/parralel universe to the WHF one, according to game creator Jervis Johnson), and there is no word on Chaos Pact.
What does this mean for our league? Will people consider upgrading to the Chaos Edition, or will they stay with Legendary Edition? There is no word yet on compatability between Legendary and Chaos Editions but, based on the changes between the Dark Elf Edition and Legendary, compatability seems unlikely.
Personally, I don't plan on giving any more money to Cyanide until they finsh releasing the rest of the stuff contained in the CRP rules (ALL the Stars, Special Play cards, etc).
Which way do people think they will go (based on what little information we have at present)?
Cheers,
Nestyr

Day 6 has Ended
Greeting Coaches
Another Round ending on schedule and Day 7 has started.
Drakeular has the Draw against the Orc team and this game has been Validated.
Coach Zenthaalx plays the Dark Elf team this Round Coached by Geoff.
Coach Drakeular is available to Sub-in if required as he has no online game this round.
Givo's Lizards are still undefeated and he is leading the League, can he play out the entire season without losing a match, can any remaining Coach beat up his Lizards to win a game, have I put the mockers on him enough in this post?
Nestyr's Wood Elves are coming a healthy Second unlike his team which suffered a number of injuries in his last game. Can the agile Wood Elves keep winning to make the Finals.
Good luck to all the teams in this round.

Woodies Win Again...at a High Price
The Asrai Arachnids defeated the Desert Demons of Anubis tonight 2-1, but at a very high price.
The team captain, Wardancer Ohtacarsila, was king hit by the foul Khemri, and fell to the ground, dead. "No problem", said coach Nestyr. "Apothecary, get out there and do your job"! But, alas, there was nothing the Apothecary could do. While being able to repair and revive players from all sorts of injuries, there's nothing to be done when the opposing player is running around the field with your player's heart in their hands, and refuses to give it up...
Sadly, that was not the last of the woes for the Wood Elves - team vice captain, Wardancer Tal'tor, in a valiant attempt to recover the ball with a Blitz, leapt awkwardly away over a defender, and landed badly, fracturing her leg, and will miss the next game while she recovers. Our next opponent is very lucky, as they will be facing the Arachnids with no Wardancers on the field.
Both teams had their fair share of fortune and bad luck, and the Arachnids were the eventual victor only due to the fortunes of Nuffle providing an opportune Blitz at the start of one drive, which made the end result one TD in their favour.
Kudos to Givo for subbing and playing a strong game with an unfamiliar team.
Cheers,
Nestyr

Guardians Lose (Under Own Coach)
Last night the Lothern Guardians were convincing defeated 2-1 by Drakeular's Legion. Enabling the Humans to take some well deserved revenge for their defeat by Guardians in the Championship rounds.
With their regular coach absent for such a long period, the High Elves initially seemed quite unsure themselves, or just plain resentful, and made a series of basic errors in the first half that handed the initiative and eventually the game to the Humans (all 3 re-rolls in the first half were used on failed 2+ rolls - and only once successfully).
The second half saw an improvement in form for the High Elves and their determined defence twice dispossessed the Legion of the ball - but they ultimately failed to stop the Humans scoring a second Touch Down and establishing an assailable 2-0 lead late in the second half. Some of the Guardians honor was salvaged with a TD of their own right on full time.
A full replay in available on Cabalvision!
Thanks to Gav for the game and good luck for the rest of the season.
And a big thanks to all the Coaches who stepped in play my team while I was away - and who also clearly did a better job than I did last night! A combination of work and unexpected family disasters necessitated my absence for such a long period. Everyone's patience is much appreciated.

Nurgle vs Lizards
A small skink staggered down to the microphone with one arm in a sling as he tapped the microphone
"I hope this is on..."
He looked up meekly
"We played our game tonight...against those stinky Nurgles. They all ganged up and hurt us plenty! Fat Fred...well he is in traction at the moment and wont be back for a couple of weeks due to severe injuries...plus one of my skink brothers will walk with a limp from now on...once he gets out of hospital that is"
He shook his head sadly
"We did manage to win the game 2-0...plus we killed one of the stinky rotters and badly hurt a couple of the pestigors. It was a very brutal game indeed but we feel like we won the game and lost the fight"
Once again he shook his head sadly
"There was plenty of fouling and Big A must have paid off the refs...wait...we paid off the ref but he still allowed those spikes to dig into poor Fat Freds flesh..."
He began to sob
"We are on top of the ladder and undefeated so far....so there!"
He poked out his tongue and scampered away back up the stairs towards the change rooms
______________________________________________________
Thanks to Andrew for a brutal game indeed!
* In the stats both teams had block success of over 60%
* Both teams rolled more skulls than POW's
* Big A failed 4 out of 15 "really stupid" rolls and they all seemed to be at critical times
* In the dice rolling Andrew rolled more 1's and less 6's than me which had a real impact on the game.
Overall the game had everything you would expect from a top of the table clash and a big thanks go out to Big A for a real thriller!
Givo
Dark Smells?
Hi all,
Sorry for posting through the blog to everyone, but I wanted to make sure the message got to the right person.
I'm up against Dark Smells this round and, if memory serves, they have a floating coach this season.
So, who is coaching them this round, and when do you want to play out the game?
Cheers,
Nestyr (Jeff)

Woodies Draw Against Norse!
The Asrai Arachnids tonight drew their game against their (now) hated Norse opponents. :-P
This was a tight game all the way through, with the teams basically swapping touchdowns throughout.
With no turns to go, the Wardancer had to make a simple leap (with re-roll) to get away from her opponents and make one dodge to score the winning TD. Alas, she failed the leap, even with the re-roll, and the game stood as a draw.
Kudos to James for a damn fine game - he never gave up, even when the dice were against him, and fought his way back into the game for a well deserved result.
The stats were very close between the two teams, and the crowd loved the spectacle, giving it an 18/20.
Results are up on cable vision for those who want to watch a ripper of a game...
