The Waldenhof Bloods crashed to another defeat tonight 2-1 against the Undead Necroped’s.
What can you say about a game where the Thralls not only caused the only casualty but also scored the team’s only Touch Down? A big crowd of Bloods fans, who outnumbered the Undead fans two to one, were so shocked by the performance they witnessed that their overwhelming numbers had no impact on the game whatsoever (except gate-takings – which were exceedingly generous). Conversely, the Necroped’s were in top form and showing no signs of the ill-luck that prompted last week’s emotional outpouring from their frustrated coach. Several of the Undead ghouls were also allegedly totally ripped out of their skulls on illicit agility-enhancing drugs.
With the Bloods receieving, the Necroped’s came out hard in the opening couple of exchanges - with their first six Blocks resulting in four KO’d and two Stunned Thralls. This, coupled with a Vampire feeding “accident”, meant that just as the Bloods got the ball moving they had lost five of their seven on-field Thralls - and neither of the remaining two were standing. Despite the chronic, and very worrying, Thrall shortage - the Vampires took off with the ball up the middle of the pitch. But Ubour Dachnavar’s inability to catch the simplest of passes turned the ball over to the Undead’s doped-up ghouls and Stench Cumsuck eventually ran away with it for the opening TD.
The second half began with the Bloods anticipating the Necroped’s offence and establishing the Perfect Defence against their field placing - and a pair of Vampires was soon converging on the ball carrier. But the excessive drugs coursing through Stench’s veins allowed him to elude his pursuers and fire off a Pass that found Fenwick the Grey who ran in the Necroped’s second TD. With the match all but lost there was some hope the Vampires might still find some form – but it wasn’t to be. Ubour Dachnavar dropped another easy catch and then failed a straight-forward Dodge. In fact, it was left to a humble Thrall, VasilĂ©, to salvage some honour for the team in the dying seconds of the game. Launching a risky Blitz from a prone position, the plucky Thrall succeeded in knocking the ball loose from the hands of one of the junkie ghouls - he then somehow managed to gather up the ball and push himself over the line for a remarkable TD.
So, another loss leaves the Bloods hanging on to 8th spot by the barest of margins. And a victory by Qman’s Norscan Raiders this round will knock them out of the Top 8 altogether.

Mate, I blame the recent release of your support merchandise. I guess the team had other things on their minds.
