Guardians Draw

Earlier this week the Lothern Guardians and the Desert Demons of Anubis fought out a 1-1 Draw.

The High Elves, however, didn't so much fight, but rather fell in droves to savage Khemri blocking. Two deaths and two serious injuries, a badly hurt and heap of KOs, resulted in a seemingly endless stream of Guardians leaving the field throughout the matchThankfully, with the Orc Bye next week, it was their last game of the season.

And a draw was very a fortunate result with only a late game turn-over by the Demons, courtesy of a confused skeleton that tried to run through a Tackle Zone (a Diving Tackle zone !!), saving the Guardians from ignoble defeat. A full replay is available on Cabalvision!

Thanks Zen for the game!

So that wraps up the season for the High Elves - I think they were a pretty good team - but, unfortunately due to my enforced absence for prolonged periods,  I did get to play them very often. Thanks to all those Coaches who stepped in to play them in my absence - an thanks to my opponents for their patience.

I'm very much looking forward to Season VIII - the rest of my family have been absolutely forbidden to die for at least 10 years - so I will be once again able to focus on the league. Jim & Bob will be no doubt be back and I'm sure that the House of Axebreaker will be in overdrive, producing a heap of merchandise to reestablish our lucrative revenue streams.

And don't forget the Saturday Night Stunties 3 - I have three teams ready to go (two Ogre outfits and a Halfling team) - so just one more go (hopefully some Gobbos) and we can begin.

Day 10 has ended

Greeting Coaches

The last regular round has started with the top 3 positions determined with Givo, Supercoach and Big-A making the finals. Drakeular and Beldenox are fighting for the 4th position.

Drakeular will be playing the Darl Elf team coached by Axebreaker who I'm sure will be planning on smashing the Humans.

Beldenox has to play Givo's Lizards in the match of the round, Beldenox has to win to have any chance to take 4th place. Givo can determine who makes the 4th place by beating Beldenox and  not suffering 2 defeats in a row.

Top game of last round was the unexpect win to Drakeular's Legion over the Lizardmen inflecting their first lose of the season :) leave it to the Chief Justice to set things right.

I have only had confirmations from Sun-Tsu, Supercoach and Big-A confirming they want to play in Season VIII.

Let me know guys so we can start organising the number for next season.

Don't forget about the Saturday Night Stunties 3 and let Axebreaker know if you are interested, it is a great, fun and quick competition playing teams you would not normally pick.

Saturday Night Stunties 3

Stunty Time Already!?!

As the FNF approaches the Finals - the tiny guys (and their not so small team-mates) are once again readying themselves for the post-season Stunty mayhem of the third season of the 'Speccy' McGroan Cup!

SNS Rules:
  1. The structure of the League will be determined by the number of teams (we'll need at least four). Regardless of the number of teams - the duration of the competition, like most of the players, will be short.
  2. Goblins, Halflings and Ogres Teams ONLY.
  3. Read Rule 2 again if you are thinking about asking to enter a Kroxigor/Skink team. Think it of as a "Throw Team Mate" competition instead if that helps.
  4. As per the FNF - vulgar or obscene team or player names will not be accepted.
  5. All games must be upload to BBM so we can enjoy a laugh at each others expense.
  6. If you don't have BBM (or just can't get it to work) - you may still enter as long as you send the Replay File to the House of Axebreaker after each game.
  7. The aim is get the competition over and done with before the start of FNF VIII. So don't muck about and play your games as soon as possible.
Season Starts:  Friday 29 June

Entry: e-mail the the House of Axebreaker to register - dave_clarke@bigpond.com
League details and password info will be forwarded to you once numbers have been finalised.

Day 9 has Ended

Greetings Coaches

Day 10 has started and there are only 2 games to go.

Coach Givo remains undefeated and is working towards keeping it that way for the entire season.
My chance next week to spoil his party.

Coaches Givo and Supercoach are in the finals with 7 other coaches fighting it out for the last 2 places.

The 2 teams without Coachs have played their draw so no need to a sub for them this round.

Good luck to all the teams this week, teams who can't make the finals can still have an effect so play hard.

Chief Justice Drakeular makes the Top 4

Drakeular's Legion Defeated Asrai Arachnids 4 - 0 with Cas 5 - 1 tonight.

The Wood Elves were outnumbered the entire match but fought on bravely.
Their Treeman injured himself at the end of the first half so wasn't available for the entire second half.
The Elves stubbin, never say die attitude delayed the Humans last TD and caused a Serious Injury to a Star Blitzer who was thankfully healed.

Thanks for the game Jeff and I hope you feel better soon.

Don't forget it is coming to the end of the regular season I'd like Coaches to email me and let me know if they want to play next season. Remember we really want Coaches who will commit to the entire season. Once an idea of numbers is gathered, style, length of season and Commissioner will be determined.

Day 8 has Ended

Greeting Coaches

Round 9 has started before schedule and there are only 3 games to go until the Final Series.

I am getting tired of saying Coach Givo still remains undefeated, looks like it may fall to the Chief Justice to put a Lose next to his statistics.

The Orcs team has a draw vs James and his Norse team, this game has been validated.

The Dark Elf team once again doesn't have a Coach, thanks go to Geoff for running the team for all the Cup matches so far.  The Dark Elf Team will be coaches by the Chief Justice or Judges or by the Team who missed a game this round because of the Orcs Draw.
Justorious is scheduled to play the Dark Elf team this round so see if you and James can setup a game or if someone else can play.

Remember to email me once a game has been successfully played so it can be Validated asap.
A game with a result of 2 - 0 or a game with a 2 Tries difference could be a failed game and I will check before Validating a game, so if you game is OK just let me know.

WinterCon 2012 is this weekend and some FNF Coaches will be attending and unlikely to play a online game this weekend.

Finally as it is coming to the end of the regular season I'd like Coaches to email me and let me know if they want to play next season. Once an idea of numbers is gathered, style, length of season and Commissioner will be determined.

Guardians Draw

Last night the Lothern Guardians and the Red Riding Hood Rockets fought out their second 1-1 draw for the season.

The Rockets had plenty of inducement money for the game and used it to instill some Bad Habits in the High Elf squad (although the Guardians are proving quite good at making unforced errors without any assistance) and getting one of their Werewolves, Harmarg the Howler, to successfully swallow a Potion of Strength. The latter proved crucial as Harmarg's drugged-fueled strength enabled him to single-handedly prevent two High Elves from reaching the End Zone.

The result of a draw was a product both sides great defensive play and some shocking moments of ineptitude on offense. The Werewolves inability to pick-up the ball and to escape from defenders with straight forward dodges derailed their entire First Half. The High Elves had several opportunities to take the match but made some very basic errors that stalled several plays before they really began (five double ones!!).

It could have been Rocket's match right on Full-Time - as Billy the Stern fired off a pass to Spinerobber deep in Guardian territory. But the Ghoul was so shocked at seeing his team actually throw the ball (they've only had three pass completions all season) he panicked and failed the catch.

There was some additional bad news for Guardians as their star catcher, Tarn`syr, was carried from the field during the First Half with a Smashed Knee. Not good for next weeks game against that seemingly unstoppable reptile outfit - Fat Freds Freaks.

Thanks to Adams for match. At least now both our teams are (slightly) ahead of the non-participating Orc team :)

Guardians Lose Again

Earlier this week the Lothern Guardians were defeated by the Rusty Cage Nurgle outfit 2-1

The disgusting and quite disturbing presence of the hideous Nurgle team was always going to be a challenge for the High Elves' passing game. The Guardians, however, had all memorised that excellent article on the subject produced last season by the House of Axebreaker and they were able to largely avoid becoming too disturbed and succeeded in completing several passes.

What they couldn't seem to avoid, however, was being knocked unconscious! Nine players - three quarters of the team! - were knock-out during the course of the match (with only three recovering right at the end of the game). This gave the Rusty Cage a decisive advantage in numbers that carried the day.

The Rusty Cage's #8 Frantz the Distasteful had a great, if highly illegal, match - committing over half a dozen fouls without any officials so much as raising an eyebrow.

Still, no elves were injured or suffered the awful doom of succumbing to Nurgle's Rot and becoming a Rotter - a fate worse than death for an elf!

Thanks to Andrew for the game - good luck for the rest of the season.
