FNF VI - Round 4 Done!

Hi Sports Fans,

Round 4 of Friday Night Fights VI has been successfully completed - and it was another exciting week with plenty of action and a couple of upsets. 21 Touch Downs were scored and 29 casualties were sustained from all causes - but very few of the injuries were serious. Unless, surprisingly, you were a Dwarf!  Another big surprise for the round was that no Rotters died!

It was also a big week for Cabalvision coverage - with all but one game uploaded and available for you to enjoy - so tune in and catch up on all the action of this week's great games!

As usual, the legendary Bob Bifford and Jim Johnson are here to present their selection of some the best highlights of this week's games.

Round 5 is scheduled to finish late Thursday night - 24 Nov

Good Luck!

Dark Elves Finally Win a Game

The Har Ganeth Blades scored their first win of the season last night - defeating the Undead Morgue Machine 2-0.

Last week's casualties meant that the Morgue Machine was flush with inducement money. They purchased a keg of Bloodweiser Ale and hired a Wizard. In an effort to fire up their mage, the Undead also hired a rent-a-crowd group of cheering fans. It was a decision that backfired - as the ring-in fans had no effect on the Wizard but they did seem to incite the rest of the crowd to actively participate in the game - to the detriment of the Morgue Machine's game.

Not one, but two Pitch Invasions, a Thrown Rock and a Skeleton beaten senseless on the sidelines - pretty much wrecked the Undead game plan and handed the match to the Dark Elves. A full replay is available on Cabalvision.

Thanks to Gav for the game - I know from some very recent experiences what it's like to have a game snatched away by the Kick-Off table. Good Luck with the rest of the season.

Much of the exciting action is available for your viewing pleasure on Cabalvision.

We are again privileged to have Bob Bifford and Jim Johnson present their selection of some the round's best highlights.

The Round has been rolled over - and Round 4 is scheduled to be completed by late Thursday night 17 Nov.

Good luck!

Dark Elves Still Winless

The Har Ganeth Blades lost their third game in a row last night - going down 3-1 to the Wood Elves of Passing Fancy. Making it easily the worst start to any season by a House of Axebreaker franchise - even the Goblins of Season I drew their second match!

Among a whole host of issues, the Dark Elves clearly need to work on their attentiveness when on offense as they were once again Blitzed when receiving their first Kick-Off - throwing their game plan into disarray and enabling the opposition to score! A full replay of the match is available on Cabalvision.

On the positive side of the ledger  - the Dark Elves did give the Woodies some lasting souvenirs to remember them by and whole of bunch of their players are finally showing signs of more skillful play. Although this week they were only paid the league minimum in appearance money, the team management still had enough to hire an Assassin. Whether the Assassin is there to play for the team or take care of some of the players and coaching staff remains to be seen.

Thanks to Matt for the game - and good luck with the rest of the season.

FNF VI - Round 2 Complete

Greetings Sports Fans,

Round 2 of Season VI of the Friday Night Fights is done and dusted. And it was another action packed round and another week of high casualties. Although Deaths and Serious Injuries were down from last week. In fact, most of the Serious Injuries were sustained by just one team - theSpirit Dragon Sky Masters. Fortunately for the Elves - three of their four Serious Injuries were to mercenary lineman.

Many of this week's games are available for viewing on Cabalvision and are well worth watching. Two of Cabalvision's biggest names join us once again to present some of the highlights from Round 2.

A big thanks to all the Coaches for getting their games in before Friday. The next round is scheduled to run from Friday 4 Nov until late Thursday night 10 Nov.

SNS Final

The House of Axebreaker is pleased to announced that the Inaugural Saturday Night Stunties competition for the 'Speccy' McGroan Cup has been completed!

Congratulations to Coach Drakeular and the Bruiser Boyz who defeated the Lowdown Ladz 2-1 in a hard fought final. Thus earning the privilege of graffiting their team name on to the trophy!

It was exciting final with plenty of casualties - mostly to Lowdown Ladz players. The replay is available on Cabalvision. Unfortunately, due to unavoidable technical errors, the last few turns of the match were garbled in transmission (the presence of 'Speccy' McGroan's ghost?)

We've invited the stunty Star Player Nobbla Blackwart to present some of the best highlights of the match.

Dark Elves: 0-2

The Har Ganeth Blades have yet to catch a break and remain on zero competition points after a heart-breaking loss to RUN Danger Mouse Club on the weekend.

Unlike last week, the Dark Elves played quite well - with very little of the fumbling, falling over and bad decisions that did so much to cost them the game in Round 1. In fact, throughout the first half, it was the Skaven that experienced real difficulty in the basic skills of the game - injuring themselves in poor Blocks and failed Dodges, and dropping several passes. All of which enabled the Dark Elves to begin the second half with a 1-0 lead.

But the vissitudes of fate shifted dramatically and decisively in the second half with the three Skaven Kick-Offs resulting in Blitz, Blitz and Perfect Defence that - along with a Stall - effectively shut the Blades out of the game and allowed the Skaven to run in two unanswered Touch Downs and take the win.

Tune into Cabalvision to watch a full replay of the match.

The FNF Administrators, however, must really love watching the misfortune of this Dark Elf team because, once again, the Blades were paid the maximum appearance fee - 70,000 gp.
