Twicksters vs Wasteland Runners - Quarter Final Clash

With a massive 560 difference in team rating, and both the ratties star Gutter Runners out for the match, The Twikster All Stars were counting on an easy game, but in the opening rounds of the match Nuffle tried to even the competition a bit by putting both the Twister blitzers in the injury both by round 2. Only some quick thinking by the Twickster Apothacary by binding a broken arm, and sending the injured player back onto the field kept the odds in The twicksters favour. by that time however the Wasteland Runners had put first points on the board, and the Twiskters realised that they were loosing this match already.
The crowd two was stunned, as in the twiksters opening round of receivership, The opening blitz by the elves landed on double skulls, followed by double skulls. Leaving the elven thrower who had caught the kickoff to be knocked soundly off his feet.

This is when the Elven side dropped their smugness, and started to play for real, recovering the ball, and getting it down field for a touchdown to even the scoreline.

With 3 rounds of the first half left, the Wasteland runners made a battle towards the elven line, but the ball was spilled, allowing Castien Noroos the Elven thrower to get the ball down field, and score touchdown 2 in the last seconds of the first half.

Second half, and the Twiksters receiving, their confidence was back, but this it seemed was the elves fatal flaw. Thinking himself safe at the back of the field with the only threat marked by 2 players, Castien held onto the pill, and was then knocked brutally to the ground by a surprising blitz by a dodging storm vermin. However the vermin could not grab the ball and step over the line  in time to avoid a responding blitz by an elven catcher. Elves flooded back to their own touchdown line to defend the catcher with the ball, but without reason as the dice deserted Beldnenox, and he could not get his rats to the ball carrier. A slightly deficient cage of elves formed to escort the catcher up field, as other elves struggled to free themselves to receive a pass. And despite a pair of Rats getting there hands on the elf, his dodging ability saved him, and he was freed up to make a pass to a waiting catcher who took the pill over the line for a third and final touchdown.

While all eyes were on the ball, and the fight for it. Castien Noroos stayed back surrounded and valiantly holding back the many rats who struggled to join the fray. An angry Skaven who could see how close they had been, took a savage swing at the star thrower, and with a resounding crack, the agile elf was no more. For Castiens noble sacrifice he was posthumously awarded the MVP.

Castien Noroos, we salute you. The Twickster lucky charm. For it was not until Castien joined the team that they had their first win, ironically against the Wasteland Runners. Some wonder how the team will function without the Agile accurate thrower, others wonder if it was bad luck for the Twickster coach to hire a reserve thrower for this match.
