Bloods Back On Track

Hi Sports Fans,

I’d like to say the Waldenhof Bloods really are back on track and that they have thrown off the doldrums of the last few rounds – but even though they won today’s match-up against the orcland rapers, it had little to do with the Vampires’ prowess and everything to do with the abysmal luck of the Orcs.

Things began badly for the orcland boys with the Vampires launching a Blitz on the opening kick-off. Vampires and Thralls immediately began to pour into the Orc backfield – heading straight for the ball. Although Lugat Nachtzehrer was felled by a Bolt of Lightning!!, he soon managed to regain his feet to eventually regathered the ball to score the first TD. The restart saw the Orcs receive the ball cleanly and throw it towards the line of scrimmage. But poor blocking and an almost perpetually stupid Troll allowed the Vampires to not only stop the Orcs from getting much further than the halfway line, but also deliver a fatal blow to the Blitzer, Hopoate bum splitter.

The second half began with a Pitch Invasion that downed two Vampires, two Thralls and five Orcs. With Aufhocker Vasher, the designated receiver, flat on his back, it was up to a Laszlo, the rookie Thrall, to regather the ball - which he did successfully and then delivered a Pass up-field to Nachtzehrer. The Orcs, however, raced in and tried to place some real pressure on the Vampires. But, after dropping the ball from a simple hand-off, Vasher managed to regain the ball, dodged his way clear and headed up the left flank. The Orcs’ appalling luck meant they were unable to stop him and he eventually scored the Bloods second TD.

In the Biff stakes, however, the Orcs really laid into the Vampires and Thralls – injuring two Vampires (both Regenerated) and KO’ing another. Two Thralls were also Seriously Injured (one healed by the Apothecary in a very rare and very uncharacteristic gesture of mercy towards the Thrall squad) and two Thralls were also KO’d. The Vampires’ also injured two Thralls while feeding on them and even the crowd chipped in – injuring yet another Thrall with a thrown rock. Despite all this carnage, the Bloods were still convincing winners– which merely serves to demonstrate just how unlucky the Orc were in every other aspect of the game.

Thanks for the game Ben – better luck (much, much better luck) in your future encounters.

Dave
