Some serious stuff

OK. Twickster and Supercoach have just "completed" their FNF game. Prior to the game commencing there were network connection interruptions. Upon the second team challenge the game started and was smooth thereafter ... until Turn 10 for the Necromantics when the network connection was again interrupted.

At the time the score was 1-1. The ball was on the deck. It was the Necromantic's turn. There were eleven Graverotters on the field to six All Stars (only two were within cooee of the ball and one was potentially going into the crowd). Remaining rerolls were three to the Graverotters and one to the All Stars.

The exact wording was "connection with opponent was lost."

It was not, in my opinion, a situation where the game would be abandoned by either player. It just happened and no accusations are being made.

But, the Graverotters had truly obtained the upper hand and I felt that a victory was certainly (if anything is certain in Blood Bowl!) achievable.

Abandoned rules saw the All Stars get no money for the match and no MVP. The Graverotters got 2 random TDs (note that the players do not get the SPPs for these, they merely account for the +2 TD scoreline), got to consider re-rolling winnings (but, as a point of clarification, did not get the opposition's winnings) and picked up an extra MVP (the MVP seems to compensate for the likelihood of another casualty and TD).

Anyway, apparently the game needs to be uploaded for review (please advise).

As always with disconnections, it is a disappointing end to a game.

  1. Whenever that happens - hit ALT-F4. It cancels the game without registering any result and allows for the match to replayed.

Dropped connections were a big issue in Season II and this largely removed the problem.

  2. For the 10 rounds we managed to play of it, it was a most enjoyable game, with both teams, scoring a well deserved touchdown, and then both teams failing to score in the last rounds, Twicksters to running out of time to pick the ball up, and Supercoach to a handoff, that failed, but didn't cause a handover?

At round 10, the twicksters had just been robbed of their second touchdown by a failed dodge, and the ball still lay on the deck with 16 seconds left of the Graverotters turn the connection dropped.

It would have been a hard fought second half, with the advantage seemingly in the Graverotters court due to some casualties for the twicksters. Both the journeyman players showing why they wern't normally on the team, one dead, and the other with a pinched nerve.

But in Blood Bowl anything can happen. My bet would have been a 2-1 victory for the Graverotters, or a 2-2 draw should the twicksters get a lucky break.
