Bloods Lose Yet Another

The Waldenhof Bloods’ lost yet another game in a very close contest last night, going down to the kreepy krawlies 3-2.

The start of the game was delayed by the failure of the Undead team to turn up at the agreed time but, over two hours later, they did eventually arrive and the match began with the krawlies kicking to the Bloods.

The Bloods’ first drive up the right flank was stopped cold and the loose ball was whisked away by the ghouls. But a failed pass allowed the Vampires to swoop in and during the ensuing mêlée the ball was knocked over the sidelines. The crowd returned the ball to the halfway line, where it was quickly scooped up by the Bloods and delivered to Ubour Dachnavar who carried it over the line for the opening TD. The restart saw some serious trash-talking between the two teams that degenerated in a minor riot and the referee put more time on the clock. The krawlies grabbed the ball and, despite a false start from another failed pass, nevertheless, managed to get it to Tombripper who carried down the sidelines and through the Vampire defence to score the equaliser. The trash talking continued at the next re-start, the Bloods' player were still obviously incensed at the krawlies discourtesy at turning up so late, and the referee added yet more time to the clock. But the Bloods' drive faltered and the half ended with no change in the score.

The start of the second half saw the krawlies move the ball rapidly among their squad of ghouls to Stonebasher, who carried it over the line. The Bloods were just as quick with a response as Aufhocker Vasher tossed a pass to Constantine von Ungren waiting in the End Zone. The krawlies next drive was practically a mirror image of their first two. Try as they might, the Vampires failed again to stop Stoneripper from carrying the ball down the sideline to score.

The Bloods had plenty of time to score an equaliser to draw the match but a cruel universe prevented Lugat Nachtzehrer from passing the ball to the receiver waiting downfield.* Caught in the open and still unexpectedly holding the ball, Nachtzehrer was knocked down and KO’d. Although the Vampires eventually regathered the ball and delivered it to a Thrall, who started running towards the End Zone, time expired leaving the Bloods with yet another loss and further out of the Top 8.

*The Cyanide program, for some reason, allows a Vampire that fails Blood Lust to still undertake any Action except a Pass (or Hand Off). According to the Fourm this is a known glitch - but a real pain in this game.

  1. Well of course they were late. They're undead! Try telling a Mummy to hurry up. Lucky they don't have feelings eh. Kudos to Axebreaker he played as well as luck would allow, seriously who are your vampires playing for. I can't afford to pay them.. All things being considered I was thinking 4-1 would have been a more appropriate score. AXE?

  2. I'm not sure that even with well behaved Vampires I could have beaten you by that much :)

Like the calendar picture of your Wight, one of my favourites so far!
